Sleeping Shifts

WHAT?1?1?

I just found out that last winter we had a volunteer who did an overnight shift and was up every hour letting a guest in and out the door all night to smoke.

AHHHHH I wish I had known that.  That is NOT Okay!

Just so you all, as coordinators, know if a volunteer would write that on the little pieces of paper that we provide for feedback, our process would be for the guest to get a written warning.  (Actually for being this inconsiderate of a volunteer they might have been asked to leave on the spot. They know better!!)

Please feel free to let Taylor or me know immediately if anything out of the ordinary would happen during your week.

Hopefully we see you all along with your team so we have a big group next Tuesday!

Wasn’t able to attend the volunteer BBQ, how did it go? I thought maybe a few words and pictures would be posted here. As it gets close to our church’s next volunteer week, I look here for updates on the shelter occupancy. Is it full? Any move outs since the one in June, or new move ins?
Did you move ahead with your idea to send pillows with folks when they move out? Do you need more pillows? Bedding? Towels?

Hi,
The picnic was awesome. We have some great pictures I will post.
Yes, we are sending pillows with people when they move. Pillows, and bedding would be great. I think someone is doing a towel drive. But we could use laundry baskets as we also send those with them.
